Septum in the uterus

I was told after a laproscopy and hystoscopy that I was born with a birth defect of a septum in my uterus like cartilage was in the uterus. The Dr. cut away most of it, he was afraid to get to close as to make a hole in my uterus. I wondered if anyone else had had this and had any luck in conceiving? I was told if I could conceive I would still be considered high risk. Has anyone else heard of this or know any info on this situation. I have been trying to conceive for over 4 years. I had this procedure in Jan of 02 and still no luck conceiving.
