Re: JUST ANOTHER 'AM I PREGNANT' QUESTIONFrom: Denise (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 30 Sep 2003 13:10:05 -0500 (CDT)
It is possible, but rare, to be pregnant and still have monthly periods. Take a urine pregnancy test, which you can get from any pharmacy. If you were not ovulating around the time you had sex, then you would not be pregnant. Ovulation is about the 10-14th day of your menstrual cycle (so about 3-5 days after your period). Semen live for a day or so after sex. If you are pregnant the test should show it. If you are still unsure, you can have a blood test done at your doctor's office or a local pregnancy center (Planned Parenthood, Pregnancy Crisis Center, etc.). Condoms should not break if they are relatively new and you are not using an incorrect lubrication for condoms like petroleum jelly.
