Re: abdominal surgery and pregnancy

I am a 23 year old mother of 1. During my first pregnancy, i had preterm labor at 19 weeks. I was placed on bedrest and procardia for 17 weeks, during which i made several trips to the emergency room. I managed to carry baby to full term . My concerns about this happening again are great because we never figured out why this happened. When I was 6 years old I was shot in the right hip with a pistol, and had to have abdominal surgery to remove the bullet. The scar extends from my belly button to my pubic area. I also had an apendectomy when i was 11, which also left a scar. Since I had my baby 3 years ago, I have been experiencing pain with intercourse as well as intermittent abdominal pain, more so on my right side at the site of my appendectomy scar.Recently, we have begun trying to conceive number two and ever since have had persistent nausea, lower backache, dizziness, fatigue, and an irregular period, including spotting lightly for 2 days when my period was due and followed by a shorter, lighter period. So my question for any one who might be able to help is this: can scar tissue be the result of this abdominal pain and could it have anything to do with complications in my previous or future pregnancies? I would appreciate any information anyone can give as to why this could be happenning and any advice someone can give.
