Cyclessa birth control pills (Doctors please answer)

I have been on Lo Ovral for the last 2 months and have suffered awful headaches the week before my period and the week of my period.

I spoke to my doctor about this and he switched me to Cyclessa, but did not give me any explanation. From my research I have found that this pill is tr-phasic rather than mono-phasic like all of the other pills that I have been on. I started taking pills when I was 18, I am now 32. My first pill was orthocyclen (was on this for 12 years), then mircette, then the last 3 months of Lo Ovral and now Cyclessa.

What do I need to know about Cyclessa? Is this considered a "low dose" pill? How does it differ from Mircette and Lo-ovral other than being tri-phasic?

Thank you, Carrie
