Vaginal Bleeding with full bowel or post bmFrom: nmmom (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sun, 21 Sep 2003 22:37:05 -0500 (CDT)
I am a 35 y/0 female with 3 boys, age 3, 5 and 7. I have had negative pap tests annualy except when pregnant since age 18. I have had 2 sexual partners, one my husband of 14 years. My last normal pap was 10/02. I was on Yasmin for 2 years and changed to orthocyclen this month. I have had spotting since 11/02 and was first told by my gyno. that I need to be careful about when I took Yasmin. In 3/03 and 6/03, I noted post coital spotting. About 4 weeks ago I noted spotting after bowel movements but not intercourse. I went to my gynocologist. He did an internal exam and felt that my cervix may be irritated. He said we should try to change birth control as a first step and perhaps consider a cervical freeze if this does not work. The bleeding got a little more steady during the end of my last Yasmin cycle. Then after 1 week on orthocyclen the bleeding returned in the a.m. when I awake with a full bowel. The spotting has been pretty much daily since then. It does not always occur with a b.m. I had a sonohysterogram last thurs. and asked for a pap at that time as well. The sonohyst. was negative. The doctor now plans to have me get off b.c. at the end of the month and see what happens. I asked him about cervical cancer and he feels it is VERY unlikelly and that I shouldn't worry about it. After reading this forum, I DO!! If that pap is negative, should I request a cervical biopsy or listen to my doctor. Thanks.
