Jessika,

Dont know much about the difference between these two pills. I do know that If you just started having problems after you started then maybe this is the problem. birth control hormones may cause yeast infections. I had this problem when I was on the pill. I have read that the newer pills are not supposed to increase your chances of a yeast infection but I bet if you look at the side effects listed for your patch it will list it as one of them. you may want to speak to your dr about this.
