Hi, i went to my doctors again today and told her i was having some vaginal discharge (yellow) and i wanted to get to the bottom of why i keep getting infections. I was recently treated for a yeast infection 2 weeks ago. The doctor didnt even look under the microscope to see if i had any bacteria in the sample, she just looked at the yeast and said, "oh yeast, you have a yeast infection", she then measured the PH balance and it was 5.5 (isnt that abnormal?) So, she told me to get monistat 1 and I took it and i dont the the yeast infection ever went away. So to make a long story short, i went back and told another doctor i was having alot of discharge and she took a sample and took the PH balance (which didnt even turn any color) and she thought it was just yeast. Just to make sure she went and looked at it under the microscope and found that i also had a bacterial infection (BV). So now i have to take 4 500 mg of Flagyl and a one week vaginal yeast cream. I dont think ive ever been diagnosed with 2 infections at the same time, do you know what might be a culprit in me having all these infections??? FYI i take the ortho evra patch and i have one partner. What methods can i use besides antibiotics to help keep my balance in my vagina??? Acidophilus??? Please help, i am at my wits end with these infections and need some help. thanks desperate!!
