Prior to that I did a year of "seasonal" BCP with 4 periods a year. From Feb. 2002 to Dec. 2002 I was fine, no spotting at all, and then I had a little light spotting in Dec. 2002. I kept taking my pills and it went away in just a few days. But in Feb. 2003 I started spotting that didn't go away after about 10 days, so I stopped taking my pills for 6 days (I would've done 7 except that I also used the opportunity to change the time of day I took my pill, and 7 days would've really meant 7.5 days which seemed like a bad idea) and had a period. Ever since then I've been spotting-free and period-free, and tremendously happy about it! Anyway, the above is what my doctor had suggested doing, and it seems to have worked. You may want to check with your doc to see if that's what he/she also suggests.
