Polycystic Ovaries and AmenorrheaFrom: anonymous@obgyn.netSun, 14 Sep 2003 20:20:44 -0500 (CDT)
I am a 34-year-old female. I was diagnosed with PCOS ~ 1.5 years ago. I am currently taking 100 mg of Spironolactone twice daily and 500 mg of Glucophage once daily. I was taking birth control pills but quit in December for fear of weight gain. In December of 2002, I had an adult cystic teratoma removed from my right ovary. My periods have been very erratic since my surgery. My last period was June 6 of 2003. I've never gone this long without a period. Around the time when I'm expecting my period, I get a bit bloated and have a little discharge, but nothing happens. Is this something I should be concerned about or should I give it longer and wait and see what happens? (I have lost about 55 lbs. in the past year, but am still overweight at 5'2" and 155 lbs.) Thanks
