I was just recentily dignosed with complex ovarian cyst. My Dr. just order another ultrasound to see how the cyst was doing if it went away or gotten bigger. Well the cyst went from 4 cm on the 21 of Aug. to 7 cm as of this past Friday. I'm being tested for ovarian cancer to rule that one out. I'm 27 yrs old and scared of having ovarian cancer, even though my Dr. told me it is very rare to get ovarian cancer specially in younger women. My Dr. told me if it has gotten any bigger then he'll have to remove it. What are my chances of getting this kind of cyst again, and is it one to be concerned about? Is my chances of getting ovarian cancer higher now since i've have this thing growing inside of me? Also what in the world is Complex cyst what makes it so differnet from the functional cyst (is the correct way to say that)? I never even had the chance to ask my Dr. about that i was so shocked to discover i have a cyst. Really any information you have would be wonderful, to ease my mind somewhat intil my next appointment next week, if he doesn't call me in before then because of how big the cyst has gotten. Also i've always had irregular periods since i first started, they regular out with my first child but when i had my second baby 19 mos. ago i've only had 6 periods since then, could this be the reason why i have developed this cyst?Thank you so much..
