Progestorone and hyperplasiaFrom: Barbara (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sun, 14 Sep 2003 02:50:17 -0500 (CDT)
Two months ago I was diagnosed with complex endometrial hyperplasia (no atypia). I am 34. My doctor put me on sublingual progesterone 100 mg for the whole cycle. I've been on this for a month now. In the meantime I have developed ovarian cyst (3 cm now), I had some bleeding in the middle of the cycle and a lot of acne. I am also depressed and lost my libido. My doctor advised me not to stop treatment, but I am very worried. I know I must take progesterone, but just wonder if taking it in the second half of the cycle only could be better for me? It seems more natural as it simply mimics what should normally happen in healthy woman's body. I do not understand how this continous treatment with low dosage of progesterone works and what is happening to me. I will be very greatful if sombody could explain it to me and help me decide whether to stay with my present treatment. Best regards,
-- Barbara
