Hello, I am a concerned female who has been married for several years. The last three years have been consumed with trying to get pregnant. Recently my husband and I were referred to an Infertility Specialist who has performed multiple test on us both. All of which have been within normal limits. Most recently the discussion of tesing the patency of my Fallopian Tubes has plagued my husband and I because it requires the use of an Iodine based dye that will be injected directly into my tubes. Which in most cases I am sure this would be an okay procedure.Unfortunately, I am severely allergic to Iodine. I have chosen to refuse this test, although we have discussed the use of antihistamines and steroids to combat any reactions that may occur, but I am still afraid. My questions to you are: 1. Are there any other known substances that can be used in the place of this iodine based dye?

2.Are there any other test that can be done to test the patency of my tubes, and if so what are they?

3. The next step is the IUI,Is it possible to conceive, with a blocked tube?

4.What are the treatment protocol if my tubes are blocked, can they be done prophalacticly if no other options are available in place of the HSG?

Thank You in Advance, A Concerned Female
