I had an IUD for 8 years, It was time for it to come out. When I had it removed the MD placed me on a 28 day birth control shot. I have no idea what was called. I do know that I had mood swings and weight gain, which was supposed to not be a side effect of the shot. I sought the advice of another MD, he took me off the shot and said that he would place another IUD, since I had no problems in the past. The only thing I had to do was have a cycle after the next shot was due. I was supposed to start August 10, 2003. I have not started yet. How long will it take the shot to get out of my system. How soon could I get pregnat agian? I have unprotected sex with my spouce twice. The first time was the day I was supposed to get the next shot. The last time was about two weeks after the first, we were using the VCF and I noticed afterwards that it was stuck to the sheets. Please give me some answers or places that I could find this info. The 1st MD does not want to give me any advice and the 2nd has not had a lot of experience with this shot. Thanks, Heather T
