Is FiberCon safe?

I'm in my early 20s, and I had been suffering from constipation for about a week, although I had been drinking TONS of water and trying to eat lots of fiber. I still couldn't have a bowel movement. I went to the store to look at some fiber supplements, picked up a package of FiberCon caplets and read the back of the package. It said to be very cautious because the caplet may get lodged in your throat and swell up, causing you to choke!!! I didn't buy any because that scared me! I don't usually have a hard time swallowing pills, but occasionally one will go down sideways or not quite right. I finally ended up having a bowel movement on my own and things are getting back to normal, but I'm just wondering. If this happens again (I get constipated semi-frequently although not usually as bad as this last time), is it safe to take a fiber supplement? Are there other risks?
