Pelvic cramping since June...doctor has been of no help...From: Sheri (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sat, 30 Aug 2003 22:24:26 -0500 (CDT)
I am a 33 yr old with irregular periods. I started in June having pelvic cramping with burning in the vaginal area. I thought it was a yeast infection or bacterial vaginosis I have had both of these before. I used Monistat and didn't get any relief so I went to my OB/GYN and they said it was yeast (did a swab) and gave me Diflucan. A week later the cramping and itching were back so I was given Terazol 7 that also brought a little relief but all symptoms were back within a week. Then I used Metro-gel they thought they would treat me incase it was Bacterial Vaginosis a week later it was back. I went back once again complaining of the same symptoms..pelvic cramping, backache, and the vaginal burning. I asked if there were any chance it could be PID and she said no it didn't sound like it. She did another swab in the office and said she didn't see any yeast but she was going to send a culture off. I have not heard back with the results and it has been 2 weeks. She put me on boric acid suppositories once a day for 14 days. I felt better but 3 days before stoping them the cramping and burning are back. I don't know where to go from here. Are there test that I should be asking them to do? I have not had a period since June but have done pregnancy test that are negative. If this were cancer or something like that wouldn't it have shown up 11 months ago when my son was born in the placenta? Any advice will be greatly appreciated.
