Vaginal Fissures...*Not* Yeast?? Help!From: Lea (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sat, 30 Aug 2003 15:21:11 -0500 (CDT)
Hi, I have been having problems with vaginal fissures, redness and itching on & off for several years. It happens every 3-4 months. The Dr. has taken cultures for yeast, bacterial infec., and herpes...all negative each & every time. She has given me Diflucan which only works if I take one every 2 days for a week. (total of 3)Why would the diflucan work if theres no yeast? I ususally will get a fissure in the perineum but today I noticed there are 4, 1/2" slits in the top area. (above the clitoris area) She also said negative for lichen sclerosis. She said she has no idea what to do for me. Help please! (Over the counter cortisone 1% helps the itching for a little while but not the fissures.)
