The doctor didn't mention this (maybe she forgot), but Ortho Evra is not recommended for women over 198 pounds. If you have the prescribing information packet that comes with your patch, it says:

"1. Body Weight ?198 lbs. (90 kg) Results of clinical trials suggest that ORTHO EVRA? may be less effective in women with body weight ?198 lbs. (90 kg) than in women with lower body weights. "

Normally, the doctors say to wait three cycles for side effects to go away, but in this case, it looks like the patch might not be effective for you even if the bleeding stops. You need to bring this up with your doctor.
