In hindsight, I feel I should have interviewed a few doctors before choosing one to do the surgery. In reality, I was so excited that the first one said he'd do it, I went with him. As far as costs, it would have been extremely reasonable had I not had the E.R. fiasco. My doctor told me my insurance would pay for it and they did. I only had to pay my coinsurance. Oh.. and the doctor never billed me for my part of his bill. (The E.R. visit, however, costs me about $400 out of pocket. Again, I have no regrets and would do it again if I had too (it's not cosmetic if it causes you discomfort!), but I would choose another doctor. Ask how many of these procedures the doctor has performed though. And.. try and find someone slightly compassionate and understanding. You don't need to feel like your doctor thinks you are silly for doing this. Good luck Kimberly p.s. If you want to email outside of the forum to talk more, leave me your email address and I'll get in touch with you.
