Confused- please helpFrom: W (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 26 Aug 2003 21:08:58 -0500 (CDT)
I am a 38 yr. old woman. After missing my period for four months, I saw my gynocologist. After checking my FSH, LH and TSH levels it was determined that I was going through menopause. I also had a dexascan and I found out that I had osteoporosis as well. Shortly after that, my periods returned for the next four months. During that time I saw a new doctor and he ran bloodwork again. This time the tests were taken 5 days before my period and my FSH serum was <0.3, N-Telopeptide serum 10.0, Estradiol 44, LH Serum 5.4, TSH 2.22 and Prolactin 8.8. This doctor told me everything was normal and I was not going through menopause. However, I have now missed my period again for two months, I am having night sweats and I have been having break outs of petechiae on my arms. I am very confused at this point. If anyone has any advice I would appreciate it. Also, premature menopause and osteoporosis does not run in my family. Thank you. W.
