2 abnormal paps 2 normal biopsiesFrom: PB (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 26 Aug 2003 10:30:14 -0500 (CDT)
I had a PAP test that came back highly abnormal and then had a colposcopy and cervical biopsy which came back normal but showed some slight inflammation. I went back to the doctor about eight weeks later, and since the results from the PAP and the biopsy were so different, they decided to do another colpo and biopsy. They really put some elbow grease into that second one, if you know what I mean. Ouch. Anyway, that came back 100% OK, but, they also ran another PAP from the same sample that they biopsied, and that came back slightly abnormal. I'm supposed to go back in 3 to 6 months for another PAP, and I just dread it coming back abnormal and having to have another biopsy. Well, I guess I could handle one more, but it seems to me that this could go on and on. Is this a situation that anyone else has had to deal with or any docs out there have any input? Thanks -- much appreciated.
