The pill can cause light periods - most women find this to be one of the best benefits of birth control. If this is your first month on the pill, the pill could have something to do with it because your body is still adjusting to the hormones. Wait until your next pack of pills, and it'll probably go away. Side effects are common in the first cycle or two, but they usually go away after that.
