Losing my hair-- help!

I'm 25 non-smoker, non-drinker and am in pretty good health I think. For the past few weeks though my hair has been coming out a lot. I have long thick hair and am constantly pulling out a lot of loose hair when I brush it, wash it, or just sit around and feel it. It seeems like a lot more than I normally lose. What would be causing this? No woman in my family has thinning hair and I haven't used any strange products on it. I don't use curling irons, hairdryers (I let it dry naturally), no perms, coloring, or anything except shampoo and condititoner. I just wash and go everyday. Could there be something medically wrong with me? If so what? Anyone know any suggestions that might make it stop, I'm shedding more than my cats!
