Re: Doctor says I'm not menopausal

My dr said I wasn't in meno either! Till I found a dr that did tests every week for 6 weeks. Then he saw the fluctuations necessary to deem me in perimeno or meno. One blood test won't cut it. I am 39----. My periods were gone before my hysterectomy at 37. And I was menopausal. There is no reason to think you are not, unless you have something wrong proven by proper testing. Don't you think? If the average age of menopause[complete ending of periods] is 51, and perimenopause can last 3-15 years...If you do the math, we can be in perimenopause in our mid thirties. As I was. There is a site which might help in symptomology. http://www.earlymenopause.com She has an excellent view of symptoms, treatments etc.,... If there is nothing wrong, why produce a period? But I DO know that you must prove NOTHING is medically wrong to assume this attitude. You know your body better than anyone. If your bloodwork has an FSH of 9.0 or higher, you are. If not, you could be fluctuating and in peri. Best of luck.\Joyce
