7.5cm ovarian cyst with MIXED Echo of 6.5 cmFrom: Jen (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon, 18 Aug 2003 13:34:35 -0500 (CDT)
Hello! I have had previous ovarian cysts, and one removed 2 1/2 yrs ago that was also the size of an orange. I have been TTC for 10 months, 3 with clomid, and only 1 cycle did I ovulate. NOT my last cycle. I had a SEVERE pain in my abdomen last week and couldn't even stand up. I went to the ER and found out that I have a cyst again on my ovary. The results got sent to my OBGYN, but not before I got to write down all the information. This is what it said... Rt ovary...length 4.0 diameter 2.1 Prominant LT adenxal mass measuring 7.5cm/4.8 with a mixed echo measuring 6.5/3.8. MY take on "mixed echo" was that it was not sure if it was 100% fluid (functioning cyst or simple cyst) but that it could be a mixture of fluid/solid/fibrious material. What my doctor said after reading the results is that it is the size of a baseball but that it was 100% benign and we are going to wait for 7 weeks to do another U/S. No more clomid until then...When I told her that I was still in pain, she suggested Advil and that was that. Now, what DOES it actually mean when it says, "mixed echo" and would you recommend waiting for 7 weeks when it is already the size of a baseball? Thank you SO much for your thoughts!
