have you had a cystoscopy (scope into the bladder to look around)? does the pain feel like an electric shock in your bladder? i have interstitial cystitis, and that's what i feel when i'm having a flare. whatever you do, don't drink cranberry juice if this is a possibility. it just makes the pain worse. your doc will prob refer you to a urologist. for me, just dietary changes were all i needed to help stop the pain. i tried meds for a while, but didn't take them religiously. the diet has been working very well. of course, i can't eat anything fun or drink alcohol, but that's a small price to pay for relief.

hope you get some answers. living in pain sucks. and i'm shocked the er wouldn't see you even though your doc told you to go. that's nuts.
