2 questions for docsFrom: Sally (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sat, 9 Aug 2003 13:42:26 -0500 (CDT)
I have two quick questions for the docs. 1) I am about to start a dosage (twice a day) of metrogel to treat bacterial vaginosis. I am also on clomid and trying to conceive. I will end the cream only a few days before I should ovulate. Should this medicine interfere at all with the sperm, or can it cause any defects in a conceived child? 2)The doc gave me the metrogel because I had symptoms of itching and a fishy odor. He could not actually see the bacteria under the mocroscope because it was cloudy due to a recent Monistat treatment. The itching has almost gone away, so I wonder if this is really bacterial vaginosis. I am starting treatment in the morning. If it is not actual BV, can it hurt to use the metrogel just in case? Thank you!
