Tina, The most significant risk factors for cervical cancer is infection with the HPV virus and multiple sex partners. Smoking is associated with increased risk, and it also appears birth control pills plat a role somehow. Pap smears have made cervical cancer less common than years ago. Since it is relatively common, I doubt heredity plays a major role.
