ovary grow back?From: alicia (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon, 4 Aug 2003 11:38:46 -0700 (PDT)
Six years ago I had an ovary removed. A year earlier I had a cyct drained on the ovary and it came back as a tumor. The tumor and ovary was removed. I've had discomfort over the years and have had at least one cyct burst by the description from the doctor. I,ve had pain in that side when having my period or ovulating. now I have it across my lower stomach and around my back. My DR. sent me for Ultra sound. When the Tech. was measuring I noticed he was on my right side most of the exam. I asked him what he was measuring. He said "Your right ovary!" I said "I don't have a right ovary." He went on to tell that if the whole ovary was not taken in surgery that it could grow back. I or no one I've talked to has heard of such a thing. I waited for a call back from my DR. figuring they would want to see me again but instead I get a message saying the Ultra sound is "normal". I've called them again and told them about not having a right ovary and the Tech. measuring one etc. and requested they call me ASAP. Now waiting for a call back. I've read some messages on the board about ovaries growing back or not but if you have any comments would appreciate them. Thanks av Yahoo! SiteBuilder - Free, easy-to-use web site design software
