Coumadin and Progestin-Can you take both?

I am 37, 1 pregnancy and 1 child. I recently had DVT and was put on 3 1/2 mg. of coumadin. While hospitalized, I was also diagnosed with severe anemia and needed blood transfusions. Hemaglobin is almost 11 now. Hematologist did all clotting disorder tests--all negative. He has determined that the cause of the DVT is due to the birth control pill and the anemia caused by excessive breakthrough bleeding over the course of the past 4 years. Previous GYN said that the breakthrough was just a "minor inconvenience". I am no longer on the pill. Before the pill, my period was never regular and I would regulary skip 3 months at a time. My new GYN suggested using progestin for 5-7 days to bring on a period for the times that I do skip months or if I had to go away on business for extended length of time and wanted to avoid my period. Both doctors said that DVT would not be an issue with the progestin since I am using the coumadin. Just wanted other opinions of using these 2 medications at the same time and especially wanted to know if the period bleeding would be heavier and/or longer than usual due to the progestin and coumadin. Thank you.
