pelvic pain and recent laser cone biopsyFrom: Jill (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed, 30 Jul 2003 20:03:14 -0500 (CDT)
I am a healthy 26 y.o., and until recently I never had problems, aside from some pretty painful cramping and nausea every few months during my period when I was younger. This was relieved by bc. In April I had an abnormal pap and consequently had a laser cone biopsy in June for CIN III. No major problems after this procedure, just some funky discharge. Then, when I got my first period after the procedure 3 weeks later, it was much heavier and longer than normal and very painful. This is very unusual for me. I have not had another period but should in about 2 days. My question is this: Was my abnormally heavy and painful period last month related to the laser cone, and should I expect my next period to be normal? I have a visit with my gyn next Weds, but I was wondering if I could get some input. Thanks!
