The blood only seemed to appear at the end when the pain was the worst.The pain was sharp,kind of stabbing, felt like my urine was being blocked off, and then I burned for awhile after. I had no fever and the bladder was not painful on palpation. The ER dr did a urine culture and sent me home with a prescription for an antibiotic and did no other tests. I did have back pain two days before the uti symptoms. I was concerned about a kidney stone because I have passed one before. I am confused now though because my boyfrien of 3 1/2 years is having the exact same symptoms as I did. It appeared suddenly....lasted about 8 hours and then everything pretty much stopped. What could this be? I have been faithful and he claims he has too.
