Re: 31 years old - Remove Ovaries?From: D.N. (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sat, 26 Jul 2003 13:06:46 -0500 (CDT)
Hi again, If they are thinking that Lupron would shrink the ovaries, it seems like you would have to be on it a long time. Supposedly it is only approved for a 6 month usage, but I have heard that some women are on it longer with the add-back therapy. Sometimes Lupron can turn off ovaries permanently, but usually, women go back to ovuating after stopping it. Ovarian remnant syndrome is usually more of problem in women who have endo. Because the continued estrogen feeds the endo. But if you have the pain from the adhesions, you could still get pain from adhesions even if you have the ovaries removed. It seems the more you go in there, the more problems you get. I can see where this is very difficult for you. I know that when I ovulate, it is more painful now that it used to be because of adhesions in that area. My endo is on the other side. I really do hope you can find an answer. Best wishes, D.N.
