I've been through this. I don't thnk it's related to birth control pills, and it's probably not menopause. It's sounds like generalized anxiety- I would see your doctor. In my experience ,the waking up earlier gradually worsened until I was waking up at 1 AM every morning. ( I exercise a lot and I tried Benedryl to help me sllep but it didn't work). My problem went away when my doctor put me on an antidepressant (which treats anxiety).
