Re: Does anyone after drinking milk have severe pelvic pain? From: Donna (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed, 23 Jul 2003 04:46:19 -0400
If it is not just with milk, but any dairy, then you could be lactose intolerant. The only way to know that is to eliminate all dairy, then add back one at a time (not in addition to the other) to see what happens. For example after discontinuing all dairy for a few days (so that it can work thru your system), then add some cheese for a day or two. Reaction or no, then discontinue that, and add some milk or ice cream. See what happens. Please do mention it to your doctor. There are meds you can take to increase your tolerance to lactose. Good luck! Quick question- I've noticed the last few months the times I do drink milk, my stomach becomes very bloated and I have severe pelvic pain(lower center near pubic bone). Does anyone else experience this or know why? Is there something in milk that makes you bloated? Just curious?! I'll make sure I mention it to my RE when I talk to him next. I do have stage IV endo if that helps.
