Twisted OvaryFrom: A. (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sun, 20 Jul 2003 01:01:28 -0500 (CDT)
Six years ago I had a hysterectomy. I was left with one ovary. Last weekend I was in a small car accident that aggravated my neck and gave me a headache. Four hours later I was in the emergency room in dier pain. Tests revealed that my last ovary was severely twisted and had a fybroid at one end. I am small,(petite), and the doctors said it was one of the biggest ovaries they had seen. My question is, why did this all happen at one time? Is there a link from the car accident that would onset the pain I experienced, such as stress or trauma, 4 or 5 hours later, and will I now have to take estrogen for the rest of my life? I am 37 years old.
