incisional hematoma

I had an exploratory laparoscopy done about three weeks ago. At the same time, another incision was made on the site of my c-section scar to remove a mass of endometrial tissue and some adhesion. Two weeks later, my incisions were healing nicely, but I discovered a hard lump under the larger (c-section) incision. My doc says its a hematoma. He said it might reabsorb or drain on its own. He told me to take it easy. I feel great. I have virtually no pain...maybe an occasional slight discomfort. Right now, I do next to nothing...sleep late, lie on the sofa and watch TV, browse the Internet. But I'm becoming bored and frustrated. I feel well enough to get up and be more active. However, I saw the doc two days ago and the lump had not reduced. I asked what "take it easy" means and he said no driving, no walking the mall, no shopping trips. Has anyone had experience with this? Is my doc being a little extreme? Could I hurt myself by doing light housework and taking short trips to the mall? He's advised me to "take it easy" for four more weeks!
