First, the advantage of seeing an oncologist is many. One, they know how to deal with this type of surgery more often than a reg surgeon. Two, A second opinion on the risks would be important in your case. Three, Sometimes [at least in my town] the oncologist can get the pathology report faster. And four, with that much going on, a specialist who can bring in others and what they need immediatly might be to your advantage. Your surgeon might have some of these options. Don't know. But you definetly have a road ahead of you. Many women here have oncology do it because so much is involved that comes into play and cancer specialists just do it all the time. Surgeons and ob/gyns are excellent, but not as familiar with it all. Kind of like cooking. Some do it all the time, and are much better as time goes by. Some do it only once a week and don't get the experience. Perhaps you can get both to assist each other in surgery? I wish you well. Hope the dr comes along soon to help. Be praying for you.
