how dangerous???Please answer in detail.From: C. (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed, 16 Jul 2003 18:06:33 -0500 (CDT)
I just got back from the doctors and now I have some concerns. Please would a doctor answer me in detail? First, I have a uterous with fibroids that are suspicious of sarcoma . The uterous is as big as a 6 month pregnancy. My leg is swollen but I dont have a blood clot. Doc thinks the uterous is pressing on the vein that goes to the heart. Anyway, he said that the surgery is not going to be a piece of cake and that it probably is a glued mess. He made it sound like I may not make it though. Please someone level with me about the risk. WHat percent dont make it through this kind of surgery?(11x8 cm) of the fibroids in question are about 10x Also PLEASE tell me what the advantage is to have an oncologist in another town do the surgery as opposed to an outstanding surgeon in my home town? I was told that they would not know for sure right then and there IF it really was cancer. Dont they do laser for blood loss? THANK YOU FOR YOUR HELP.
