I am almost 20 years old. I have had my period since I was 13, and it has never been regular, but that runs in my family. My mother was not regular until she had my younger sister. My problem is this...since my periods are not regular a couple of skipped months does not concern me. When I do get my period it is usually fairly light but can last up to 2 weeks. Almost two months ago I started my period and have experienced light bleeding every day since. I read on a website that this can happen with women who are irregular. I have also heard that irregular and periods over 40 days can be a sign of type 2 diabetes in females ages 18-22. What could be the causes of this extra long period?
