[Birth Control] Birth control and MigrainesFrom: Kathy (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed, 16 Jul 2003 07:19:49 -0500 (CDT)
Hi. I have migraines. I take Imitrex when they come on and I take Topomax asa preventative which works really well. Anyway, my neurologist says that I can not take any hormone containing birth control because I am at an increased risk for stroke. I tried the Depo shot but I went off of it recently because I couldn't take the side effects any more. My GYN says that I have no other choices ince my insurance doesn't cover an IUD and he won't do a tubal. Do you have any suggestions? Thanks
