Curious, I'm not a doctor, but I have had calcified fibroids. I would say in general they are nothing to concerned about. I did have a hysterectomy in my case because the other non-calcified fibroids had grown so large they were interfering with other organs. I could be wrong about this fact, but I am under the impression that they calcify after they degenerate (outgrow their blood supply).
