ovarian cancer risk - trying to decide

Avoiding the risk of ovarian cancer seems to be the main reason for having a bilateral oophorectomy at the time of a hysterectomy. What is the risk of ovarian cancer and how does it compare, for instance, to the risk of breast cancer or heart disease? Are there any screening methods that are helpful in detecting early stages and that might eventually be supported by insurance companies? I have heard that there are no screening methods for ovarian cancer right now that are used routinely like mamograms.
