For many people , losing weight will bring it down. You'll probably have more energy too. An allergic reaction to the BP meds is very rare, so try not to worry . If you still need nedication after losing weight, maybe a mild diuretic will be all you need. Try to avoid stress, making some time for yourself would be a good idea. Walk every day, gradually increasing your distance as you get more fit. My very best wishes for you :)
