sour'ish odor, not a yeast infection

I get a white watery milky discharge all the time, sometimes it's slightly thick. (never cottage cheese lumpy or with foul odor) There's a sour smell to it, but not strong. I've been to the doctors and have had been tested for everything imaginable and it's come up negative, even for yeast. I went to a homeopath who did a stool sample and said I had no good bacteria but a lot of bad bacteria. I went on cipro, and did a course of acidophilus, and cut back on yeast, sugar etc. Still no change what so ever. This has been going on for almost two years now and I've gone through three different docs trying to figure it out, many ultrasounds, and gyno exams, blood tests, cultures and so on. I keep hearing "if it smells like yeast and acts like yeast.... so I've also had too many courses of diflucan, metrogel, over the counter yeast medications. I never have an itch, except when I use the creams, then I have discomfort. My husband and I are so tired of this. Not only that, the last few months sex is a bit painful when the discharge is heaviest. I also now have vaginal dryness (I'm 42 in a few months, no children) and intercourse is sometime painful. My sexual drive is diminished because I'm tired of the white discharge we have to deal with. Could this be hormonal and part of pre menopause?

I feel like it's hit or miss and I'm beyond tired. What about a food allergy?

thank you for any help

Louise
