Complex cyst on Ovary and Kidney AtrophyFrom: Amy (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu, 29 May 2003 14:02:12 -0500 (CDT)
I was recently diagnosed with several cysts on my ovaries with one being complex in nature, My doctor is sending me for a cat scan, but doesn't feel the need for a biopsy , even though my mother and my aunt, had premenopausal ovarian cancer, She tried to reassure me that it is nothing to worry about and its fairly common, but my concern is that it isn't that common and how to tell if its not cancer just by looking at a cat scan...wouldn't they have to do a biopsy? My next question is, during that ultrasound that they found the complex cyst they couldn't even detect my right kidney even after several attempts, my left kidney is always hurting, is it possible that the good kidney is picking up the slack for the one that is atrophy?
