Herpes lesions do not spontaneously appear immediately after sex. You would have been developing one before you had sex and the irritation/friction might have cause it to appear. They do tend to appear at the same spot as an initial one. While inital reaction was that it might have been a latex reaction (perhaps a gland swelling and the irritation), if you're concerned about herpes then have your doctor perform the tests needed, because there is something called asymptomatic shedding where the virus can be passed from partner to partner without the infected person showing any symptoms. Even with the use of condoms, depending on where the virus is shed (testes etc), you can still contract the disease. even if you are planning on getting married, I would still get tested, especially if you're planning on pregnancy, because the virus can be shed in the vaginal passage and affect your decision regarding natural childbirth.
