Bleeding while on the pill?

I am 26 years old and was prescribed ortho-cyclen by my gyno last month. This is the first time I have been on birth control and I was a virgin when I went on the pill. Because I was getting married a month later, the doctor suggested that I skip the green pills and immediately start the next pack to skip a period during my honeymoon. This is what I have done and I have had spotting or light bleeding since I have begun using the pill. It happens every single day even though I have been taking the pill every day. I want to know if this is normal and if in the long term it will go away on its own . Or do I need to see a doctor? Many thanks….A
