I had an ultrasound last week and got the results tuesday- my dr is sending me to a gyn and mentioned a D&C. I would like some opinions on my report- with all that is going within me am I looking at a hysterectomy or am I overreacting? My dr told me that my endometrium is in cm 1.7 when a normal is 1 cm but from my research I have done here and elsewhere, a normal lining is thinner. Thanks for any advice. Transabdominal and transvaginal images are obtained. The uterus is slightly enlarged. It measures 8.9 x 5.3 x 5.2 cm. The endometrium is thickened. It measures 17.3 mm. There is some areas of mixed echogenicity within the uterine wall consistent with small fibroids. The largest of these is 2 cm. The left adnexa measures 3.8 x 3 x 2.8 and does contain a slightly irregular shaped cyst of 2.5 cm. There are no septations noted. The right adnexa measures 3 x 2.4 x 1.9 cm and appears normal. There is just a very small amount of free fluid.
