Your message is very worrisome. You have done research on the alternatives to routine medical care by a trained medical professional but have you researched the procedures? I strongly suggest you review this website http://www.firstvisit.org/ that was created initially for young women like yourself but is useful for women of all ages.

The fact that you view a medical examination as a violation is quite troubling and perhaps you should explore that further. A violation of a person does not necessarily mean violence or an attack but rather leaves the 'victim' with a sense of helplessness, a feeling of loss of control over your own free will, (among other things). A medical exam of any sort should NEVER leave you feeling that way, in fact quite the opposite, you should go into your exam and leave it with a sense of control over your health from taking a PROACTIVE role in your healthcare.

To perhaps oversimplify things you can liken a gyne exam with any other medical exam. If you have an illness such as strep throat, bronchitis, etc. do you go to the doctor? That doctor has examined other people prior to your appointment and will see other's after you.

It is possible to request a 'first appointment of the day' if the order of your exam is really important to you. A gyne exam is more than just taking some fluid and cell samples, there is a visual exam as well that is just as important.

Perhaps if you try going to a smaller private practice office that focuses solely on Gyne care (versus OB/GYN), or use a Family Practice physician you might be more comfortable. Your doctor should be your PARTNER in your healthcare.
