sounds like you're very mature for 16 colleen. i'm 29 and can't help but agree with you. i too chose not to have pelvic exams. why ? because it's my choice. the rationale behind it is that i hate the thought of the gloves, the speculum and the stirrups. from reading this forum, i know i am opening myself up here for attack from all sides, but being attacked from all sides definitely beats the assualt between my legs from the gloves and the sterilized instruments. how sterile are they really ? everything seems so sterile, but before it's inside of me, where was it ? did it come directly from the sterilize, or did it get set down on a table somewhere ? how about the gloves ? lubricant and whatever else ? you sound very mature and like me, you have done your fair share of research. good luck and remember, you and only you can make decisions regarding your body.
